Wayne has been a member of the IILG since June of 1996 and therefore been a part of the IILG since just after its launch in January of 1996. Wayne is a leathercraft teacher that has group classes 4 days a week and also offers private classes one night a week because there are so many students waiting to join his classes. Although many would not be so willing to share their leather "secrets" to a worldwide base of leathercrafters Wayne posts his work to the guilds groups in order to share his latest work and techniques and is free to offer assistance to anyone who asks "How did you do that?" Wayne promotes that guild through his Leather by WC website and through his leather and Native American Craft store by referring customers who are searching for leathercrafters that can do a job for them. He is continually suggesting to customers, students and friends that they join the guild as well as the guild's yahoo groups.
Using the blogs, forums and other internet outlets that are affiliated with Standing Bear's Trading Post, Wayne promotes guild events and the guild itself as an asset to any leathercrafter. His dedication to teaching and his promotion of the guild and the art of leathercraft are the reasons I believe that Wayne Christensen would be a worthy recipient of this award and recognition for the tireless support and promotion he offers to the world of leathercraft and to the IILG.
